Allstars MMA Academy
A purpose-built combat sports academy on Viking Close in Willerby, on the western edge of Hull, with adult classes (age 15 and over) in boxing, K-1 kickboxing, gi and no-gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA and wrestling, plus a judo class aimed at BJJ students. The facility has a competition-size cage, a large boxing ring and a weights area, and separate kids’ MMA and BJJ programmes run for ages 4 to 14.
St Paul’s Boxing Academy
East Yorkshire’s oldest boxing gym, founded in 1948 and based in a refurbished gym on North Church Side in Hull’s Old Town. The Hull classes run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, a junior session at 6pm followed by senior grades and adults at 7pm, and the club has produced English and British medallists.
Hull Shukokai Karate
A Shukokai (Shito-ryu) karate club founded in 1972 and now led by Chief Instructor Steve Beveridge, 7th Dan.
