A Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy on Chamberlayne Road, just north of the city line. Adults start in an Intro to BJJ class before moving to the all-levels classes, and there are kids’ classes from age five, a weekly Marathon Roll sparring session and a free open mat.

Before you visit
The Marathon Roll (11 five-minute rounds, gi and no-gi in alternate weeks) needs at least six months of BJJ experience. The gym opens 30 minutes before class.

Prices & membership
Adult day pass $25. Membership prices: $110 for the first month, then $160 a month unlimited, month to month with no contract; an annual membership is offered at the front desk to members who have finished Intro to BJJ. Kids $150 a month ($135 for a second child). Guests can join the Marathon Roll for $5; open mats are free. A free first class is offered.
